Las Vegas:  The International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Event -August 14, 2021

LAS VEGAS, NV - On August 14, 2021, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, with this day being declared a proclamation day of "WOMEN'S BOXING DAY" by the honorable City of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, we had a spectacular event, was the largest event we have held since 2014. We had many high-profile special guests and the whole event went on without a hitch! We will be posting Video and photos soon! Thank you to all who made this event happen in Vegas! Our next tentative date for the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Event is set for the weekend of October 22, 2022! More details to follow. Make sure that you nominate a potential inductee, as the IWBHF Board Members will be voting on after the deadline of October 31, 2021. We will announce our IWBHF Inductees the first week of November 2021 so that we have ample time to prepare for another great year of our event in Las Vegas---our homebase! (DEC 5, 2020)  This is not an Event you want to miss! The International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony/Dinner Event is set to take place on August 14, 2021, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  We moved it to this date due to the pandemic and feel that at this time it will be a great time to have this huge celebration to honor our elite inductees and the stellar boxers receiving special awards.  We will have "two years in one" with 24 IWBHF Inductees!   We anticipate that this will be huge and am sure boxing fans and the boxing community will want to be at this history-making event.  As they say, "Viva Las Vegas!"  Go Here for full story  [IWBHF Tickets, Go Here]

PORTLAND, OR - (January 27, 2019)  WBAN is proud to announce the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF), Class of 2019.  This sixth annual induction represents a record breaking number of honorees in the history of this signal institution which has recognized and honored those individuals who have, over the history of the sport of Women’s Boxing, contributed to, advocated for and brought esteem and distinction to the sport in and out of the ring.  Included in this year’s class are seven former boxers: Terri CruzMelissa FiorentinoLisa HolewyneCarina MorenoBridgett RileyWendy Rodriquez and Martha Salazar. The Non-Boxer category includes David AvilaStephen Blea and Blanca Gutierrez. Press Release:  The 2019 International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Held at the DoubleTree Hotel, Brisbane, California VIDEO:  Three-Minute Video Overview of Event

 

On August 30, 2019, at the Double Tree Hotel, in Brisbane, California, the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) held our sixth year in the sport to honor our twelve 2019 IWBHF Inductees, and special honorees who received other awards.  We held our event just one day before the Beautiful Brawlers had their amateur show the following day, and in conjunction with our event.

The 2019 class, was composed of twelve inductees.  The composition includes seven former boxers: Carina Moreno, Wendy Rodriguez, Bridget Riley, Martha Salazar, Lisa Holewyne, Terri Cruz and Missy Fiorentino. Also honored was Pat Emerick, a pioneer boxer who overcame untold obstacles in order to compete in the ring during the last century and whose award put her position as the second oldest IWBHF inductee, a mere five months behind Year I inductee, Barbara Buttrick.  Also in line who were inducted were David Avila, prominent, award winning, West Coast boxing writer and Stephen Blea, a widely praised boxing official who has worked tirelessly to raise the standards of amateur and professional boxing in this country.  Rounding out the 2019 class was Blanca Gutierrez, driving force behind Beautiful Brawlers, the West Coast promotion firm, a contributing impetus behind the recent resurgence in the sport, and Pat “Sandy” Martinez-Pino, a tireless, hardworking advocate for the sport with the AIBA, had been responsible for providing numerous opportunities within the sport, for qualified females. The Mayor of the City of Las Vegas declares a Proclamation Day as  "Women's Boxing Day" for the IWBHF's Induction Ceremony Event!

(JULY 4, 2021) This is such a great day on a national holiday as the Fourth of July to announce that the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Induction event that takes place on August 14, 2021, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been declared a "Proclamation Day" by the Honorable Carolyn G. Goodman, Mayor of the City of Las Vegas as "Women's Boxing Day." Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said in the Proclamation Letter, "By virtue of the Authority given to me by the Laws of the State of Nevada and by the Charter of the City of Las Vegas, do hereby Proclaim, AUGUST 14, 2021 as "WOMEN'S BOXING DAY" in the city of Las Vegas and all Residents and Visitors to join me in celebrating the Inductees for the 2020-2021 International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame.  We congratulate the women boxers and other inductees for their hard work and dedication to the sport of boxing."  Full Story
